Meet Nneka

She shows up for the people.

Nneka Constantino is the host of Financial Fitness and a proud representative of KMOJ, The People’s Station. She has been serving KMOJ since 2003 as volunteer financial fitness director at the Center for Communications and Development, and she still shows up with the same purpose: help our people make sense of money, opportunity, and what comes next. KMOJ is proud to have her in the mix.

Read Nneka’s profile

Financial Fitness is not a line on Nneka’s résumé. It is aligned with her passion and her way of showing up. She created the show to make the money conversation plain, and as its host, she represents KMOJ in the community with warmth, pride, and a fearless commitment to protecting listeners from financial advertising that takes advantage of people. Out of that commitment, she built the Financial Fitness vault: a library made specifically for The People’s Station, filled with candid conversations with national leaders and straight-talk money lessons. It is a treasure listeners can only find by tuning in every Wednesday.

Professionally, Nneka works as a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, but here at KMOJ, she’s simply the host who cares deeply about helping our people make sense of money and opportunity. Her career path includes working the trading floor at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis and later working at Smith Barney. Those chapters inform her perspective.

Off air, Nneka is a requested speaker on wealth creation and economic empowerment. Nneka Constantino is a vocalist with the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness and a graduate of Howard University. She is the daughter of Minnesota musical legend Cynthia Johnson, known for “Funkytown.” Her content contributed to the PBS/TPT collaboration Make Money Work, which was recognized with a Regional Emmy. Honors like Ebony’s 30 Under 30 and Finance & Commerce’s Top Women in Finance have followed her work. Her heart is in the work so wherever she is she consistently shows up with pride and purpose.

Tune in every Wednesday, 6:00–6:30 PM on 89.9 KMOJ FM. There is a whole vault of conversations waiting for you.
